I usually register through a Third-Party because they do all the work for me and they usually charge a reasonable amount. They all vary however! I paid $70 and was happy about that.

I usually do a third party as well. But it's easy to do through the DMV if you live in California and it only cost about $120 with $20 renewal fees every two years so it wasn't that bad. Took forever but it's convenient if you're in CA
